I would have agreed with you before last week. I have some fuzhuan laying around from several years ago. I think it was from a tea book club, and I was trying to approximate Tibetan butter tea with it. So I pulled out this--Hunan Baishaxi, I think it was called--looking for something low-pressure to brew carelessly for the cold weather. Darned if it didn't have some nice aged taste, the kind I buy aged oolong for. Don't tell my friends, I'm going to surprise them with it. I didn't have much aged oolong experience when I bought it, so I wouldn't have known if I'd drank it immediately. Not that I'm going to start scooping up fuzhuan--I have another specimen that I'm sure is still swill, looks like a rock-hard Kit-Kat or something.
