07 GNWL brick (250g) is 250RMB ish on Taobao
2012/2013 cake (357g) is around 150-200RMB-ish,
The TB vendor I use has some 2006 601 GNWL cake for 550RMB-ish.
So it is around 110aud before shipping. I personally won't pay that much for Shu cake.
I had a sample of 25yr old wild arbor loose shu when I got my 2003 7542 and 2004 CNNP 8653 from a HK private collector.
I thought... mmm... pretty good but I have a look at his old Ad on HK Tea Forum... $290AUD for a 500g bag. I would rather buy 3 cakes of 2005 FTT8653. haha

Overrated for what it is. There are better cakes I like and a lot cheaper.Jaymo wrote:have any of you tried this tea? If so, what did you think?
Shou puerh is overpriced anyway.

I think the GNWL is definitely a good cake with layered complexity but quite pricey, V93 are great and much better bang per buck.

Re: Menghai Dayi Golden Needle White Lotus
OK, the 2011 Liming Tea Factory "Stairway To Heaven" is a little bit more pricey than the Mengku cake, which is an excellent ripe puerh, but still following the motto best bang for your buck.

Another relatively inexpensive cake is the '08 Menghai Boyou "Secret Live." It feels like snacking on raisins and dried plums with a lasting hui gan on both sides of the tongue. Very smooth and generous shou that will last you a good bunch of steeps.

Re: Menghai Dayi Golden Needle White Lotus
Are you talking about Berylleb King Tea? They sell a non Dayi, Golden Needle White Lotus. They don't claim it is Dayi and anyone who knows a little about Dayi will know it is not. They are not selling a fake as they are not trying to convince anyone it is a Dayi. They do not picture a Dayi either. I have bought it and I have bought the much more expensive 2010 Golden Needle White Lotus from Dayi. The Dayi is much, much better although the knock off isn't bad for the price. I bought the real Dayi from Yunnan Sourcing who has long since run out. It is hard to find and I think sells for around $120.
