Dayi Tea and Security Markings

by AllanK » Jan 1st, '15, 18:54

I recently bought a 2010 Dayi Tribution Tuo from Dragon Tea House. When I scanned it under the black light it did not glow. I know a Bing from 2010 would glow under the black light. My question is, should a tuo cha have the same security markings? Should it glow green?

it depends on when the tea was made. the fluorescent label came in 2010 2nd half of the year.

better for the dayi experts to guide you instead

As this tea didn't taste sub par it could just be that it was made in the first half of 2010. I know on bings as early as 2007 I have had the seal glow but not all bings from 2007.

ah. i meant that it depends on when the tuo was made. prior to late 2010 when the new label was out, bricks, tuocha, and small bing (100-200g), used the smaller dayi label of which the "yi" word was not fluorescent.

big labels have the seal glow since 2007, not the small one. (info source from malaysia dayi collectors)
