I do have a small tea table that I like but rarely use because somehow I'm not that comfortable with keeping the wood exposed to lots of water for extended periods of time.

I don't have a tea boat but I'd like to have one. They seem more aesthetically flexible than tea tables, by which I mean, a tea table may seem too small or too large for your configuration of tea ware at any one time, and I guess one is more likely to have a few tea boats for differently sized pots than a few tea tables for different configurations because they simply take up more space.
