During business trips, I have been a few times in a great teashop in Berne, Switzerland (http://www.laenggasstee.ch). Unfortunately I do not travel anymore in Switzerland and would like to find new teashop with same quality.
Do you know any European teashop selling top-quality Chinese tea? I am interested in whole-leaf tea only.

Ups, this is not the right section for this post. I should have posted it in TEA & TEAWARE.

Re: Chinese teashop in Europe
Sure, there are quite a few good shops with Chinese tea around. Here are a few that I use:
- http://pu-erhtea.com/ : mostly pu-erh, but also other kinds
- http://klasektea.cz/ : large selection
- http://wanlingteahouse.com : specializes in Tieguanyin
- http://cantonteaco.com : large selection, a bit pricy
- http://www.postcardteas.com : special selection, on my to-do list
There was also Essence of tea, but I think they moved to Malaysia...
But lately I'm trying to clear my stash and if I buy more tea I mostly buy it direct from China...
What kind of tea are you looking for?

Re: Chinese teashop in Europe
Thanks a lot bob.
I drink exclusively Chinese tea; not scented and not flavored. All kinds: white, green, yellow, oolong, black, pu'er.
The most important think for me is the quality. after having traveling a lot in China and tasted many teas my expectations are high.
I would never buy a Chinese tea for 5 euro/100 g; as it simply cannot be as good as I want it. So I search for selected shops, that do sell only tea of a certain range.
http://www.cantonteaco.com/ could suit me. They seem to offer a refined selection of teas, with an eye on quality.
http://www.postcardteas.com/ left also a good impression to me. For Oolong, and maybe some greens, could be even a better choise.
Is it oolong the tea in your picture?

Ooops, sorry for late reply...gabriele wrote:Is it oolong the tea in your picture?
If you are talking about my avatar image: yes, it is oolong. More precisely, it's Ba Xian Dancong from TeaHabitat. Fantastic tea, one of the best I tried so far. I think I still have a small packet stashed away somewhere...
Which Chinese teas are your most favorite ones?

Postcardteas is really a great shop. Whenever you're in London you definitely should drop by!gabriele wrote:http://www.postcardteas.com/ left also a good impression to me. For Oolong, and maybe some greens, could be even a better choise.

Whenever you're in switzerland you should - as miig already mentioned - visit Shui Tang in Zurich as well. Together with Länggass-Tee it's one of the top tea shops here in switzerland.

Whenever you find yourself in the Netherlands:
http://www.theevansander.nl/
This is near the Hague. Owner is nice and will let you taste. Good selection
http://formocha.nl/
Didn't get to go there as it was closed when I was near. Hear good things though.
http://www.teasdelight.com/
small selection, but pretty decent. Prices are on the high side of things.

Regarding France, I’ve heard good things about La Maison des trois thés:
http://www.maisondestroisthes.com/
Avoid the rather famous Mariage Fréres, although they have a very large selection, they are mostly overprized.
