Why do someone would want to avoid matcha from Kagoshima? Is there any reason ? such as radiation fear etcedkrueger wrote:I see that most of DoMatcha's offerings are from Kagoshima, which is reason enough to avoid them. Their "Master's Choice" appears to be made by Koyama-en which is a respected company, but I think you are going to pay a lot for it being American market.

No there would usually be even less radiation fear in kagoshima since it's so far away. It isn't known as a region for producing matcha... though that doesn't mean you can't get good quality stuff from there.
In other words, Kagoshima is kind of the maverick "upstart" of the Japanese tea world (bunch of fukamushi growing hippies!) in general and as such people often scorn and scoff at a good quality matcha, the most traditional and ceremonial japanese tea, being produced there.
I'm sure there's a bit of truth to that, but there's also a lot of conjecture.
