Re: 2015 Chinese Green Excitement
Two rounds in with Life in Teacup Da Fo Long Jing. I'm not sure I can quite describe the flavor, but it's wonderfully refreshing and the air feels a couple degrees cooler once it's steeped out. 6g leaf, 10s uncovered, ~95C water in a 100ml clay gaiwan (the thing white2tea sells) nailed it. I wish I'd ordered much, much more than 50g.
Re: 2015 Chinese Green Excitement
I just ordered Tai Ping Hou Kui from tea trekker. They say that this year they were able to source a fully handmade version, so the 2015 Chinese green excitement is mounting.
I also ordered a small bag of Lu An Melon Seeds, because it's always good to try something that's new to me.
Here's my Shyrabbit 'cherry blossom' teacup waiting to be used with my new teas.

Z_Lamp: I will have to look at that brewing again when I order all three of the new 2015 sample packs from Life in A Teacup when I drink the da fo. Dragonwell is always a little tricky!
JRS22: Beautiful piece, can't imagine how much it must enhance the drinking experience.

Re: 2015 Chinese Green Excitement
So my green tea stock is looking pretty slim, and I'm thinking of jumping into the spring tea party. However, i'm not sure what to order, or where. Right now it seems like Tea Trekker and Jing Tea Shop have the top offerings for Chinese teas, but since I don't want to wait months for Jing to get around to shipping, I'm inclined towards Tea Trekker. I know a few teas have already been mentioned in this thread, but I'd love any recommendations for what I should order--thoughts, anyone?

For the future - my favorite is Longjing Meijiawu Village. Just checked and they are sold out. Runner up is Longjing Weng-jia Shan, still in stock. It's a bit lighter, if I remember correctly, I have not had it in two years. Both are a good value, Tea Trekker's strong point.

Just bought 500g of this organic Jiangsu biluochun:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z ... 4703861910
Supposedly certified organic, but I'm always wary of such claims from China. Fingers crossed that it's good tea! For under $30 for 500g (shipped) it's not too much of a gamble, and it should be here early next week.

I know people have different experiences with Jing and shipping/response times, but I made an order there quite recently and the package was shipped within two days.hopeofdawn wrote:but since I don't want to wait months for Jing to get around to shipping, I'm inclined towards Tea Trekker.
(To add to this topic, I've had Jing's 2015 "Weng Jia Shan Long Jing AAA " and liked it a lot.)
Re: 2015 Chinese Green Excitement
I am enjoying Beijing Zheng Xing De (old tea company)'s organic Fujian green. I've been enjoying this tea for 3 years, planning to visit Beijing muslim town at southwest every year..old Beijing tea houses are usually popular with Jasmine tea though..

66 rmb for 250g organic Biluochun, left stocks are about 3000.jayinhk wrote:Just bought 500g of this organic Jiangsu biluochun:

Add 0 perhaps..I've found Taobao green tea is worse than local shops, small shops are okay but high-quality greens can never have that amount you already know that
