so today i decided to mix some sencha superior from hibiki (which i adore) with clear spring premium matcha which i do not appreciate on its own (however i wanted to find some way to use it)
i sifted 1/8 tsp matcha over 2 tsp sencha. mixed it and then put the tea in the sieve and shook it to remove any excess matcha (the idea was to dust the tea only)
i brewed the tea as normal; 2 tsp.tea:100ml 80c water for 1min.
The result was delicious, and tasted similar to my fuka tea kagoshima yutaka midori (yet easier to brew). the tea definitely had more body and a deeper grassy flavour and aroma.
my question is, have you tried this? and has anyone done it with fuka or gyokuro?
Re: dust your green tea with matcha! have you tried it?
one of my friends had bought for me from japan a pre-mixed tea that is sencha leaves with powdered green tea. it is meant for cold brew or large volume brewing, if you use some superior tea then its going to get expensive

I used to experiment with different combinations and enjoyed it. Have not done it for several years.

Dust your green tea with matcha! have you tried it?
Sound much better than putting unloved matcha in the compost bin
