Does anyone here enjoy green tea from Ceylon/Sri Lanka?
I have had it before and I generally enjoy it, even though Ceylon/Sri Lanka is mainly known for its famous black teas.
I learned that there's even a Ceylon gunpowder but I have never had this type of Gunpowder green tea as all the gunpowder green tea I have had was Chinese.
Re: Do you like Ceylon/Sri Lankan green tea?
One year ago my friend was on Ceylon and bought me Ceylon green tea.
So I can say that it was not so good for me, the taste and aroma were too simple, nothing interesting. That is why I prefer drink Chinese green teas

I agree with John Li, I' ve tried a ceylon curled green tea: not interesting at all. However I think that this tea, like other green teas from India I've tried, is good for those who want to taste green tea for first time, especially people from Europe.
Re: Do you like Ceylon/Sri Lankan green tea?
Personally, I've never enjoyed Sri Lankan or Indian green teas. I drink tea mostly for the varied flavor that comes with either the processing or type of green tea. But, perhaps some folks just naturally like very subtle tasting and lighter green teas. I usually don't. I will usually reach for Japanese sencha, Chinese Long Jing, or some of the Chinese floral greens.Aredhel wrote:I agree with John Li, I' ve tried a ceylon curled green tea: not interesting at all. I think it is an acquired taste.Aredhel wrote:me too! but here in Italy people aren't accustomed to the taste of green tea.
Re: Do you like Ceylon/Sri Lankan green tea?
exactly! I think that starting with a indian green tea rather than with a Japanese one helps to educate an inexpert palate.
