Ok, so it's not original Factory 1 or modern master work, but it looks like it had been a completely usable pot....

Not really worth the reconditioning work at this point .

haha! looks cute though. i have a couple of 60-70s pots that got turned into incense holders or flower pots.. :X

Maybe it is something a good soak in bleach could fix? This is a problem for Marshaln.

Funny, I was thinking the seller actually put in extra time and effort to sell the pot for less money than if she had just listed it as a Yixing teapot for $20. One of those rare cases that hard work resulted in less pay.

not for waxes unfortunately! :)

for waxes you probably will need to burn it off, i.e. throw it back into the kiln and take it to 1k deg celsius again

probably depends on the initial porosity, but would carbon wicked deep in there permanently discolor/taint it?

would doing some hot oil/solvent pulls first help?
