I'm ordering a few small teapots from ChaWangShop, and a few of them come with a free stainless steel strainer that fits into the spout of the teapot.
I was wondering what you guys think about putting a steel strainer into a single-hole Yixing pot. The reason I'm asking is because I like the flavor that my pots impart to the tea and was wondering if putting a metallic strainer into the pot might alter the flavor in any way.

Re: Stainless Steel Strainers Inside Yixing Pots
I don't think it will affect the flavor much. But personally, i anyhow prefer single hole pots, and do not use such strainers. If tea gets stuck in the sprout, which occasionally happens, it is very easy to clean with a pinching tool, or a tooth stick.

Re: Stainless Steel Strainers Inside Yixing Pots
While I agree with theredbaron and prefer single hole pots too, I do have one oolong pot with a stainless filter installed (it came with it). It's never been an issue and the pour is always a non-issue. For my other pots, I have to keep a toothpick handy. Perhaps I should have filters in all my pots as the tiny amount of stainless steel in there can only improve the efficiency of my pours.
