As somebody else said, it is an individual taste but I support you on that one.

And if the pu'er is too bitter for my taste I store it until it mellows out a bit.

Me too. I hate those shengs too bitter (and too smoky as well) and I store it until it meallows a bit. (I have 2 tuos of dayi jia ji ageing until they loose that bitterness).

Now we're talking. Of course, tea appreciation is subjective, but for me bitterness upfront is good, as long as it then turns into something else (sweetness, floral, perfume/cologne, wood, minty, etc.) in the aftertaste. Tea that starts bitter and stays bitter is a bad sign. To each their own, though.

I really don't mind some healthy level of bitterness or adstringency as long as those aspects don't cover up other areas of the spectrum. The good news is that some friend of mine can't have it bitter and adstringent enough so all the stuff that goes overboard here sooner or later ends up in their hands.
A real win-win situation I guess
I recently gave them some extremely bitter 3 year old sheng bings. Both she and her husband LOVE that stuff. They brew it up so darn strong that just the thought of it makes me cringe but they can't get enough and recently asked me to order some more.

last thoughts of w2t is very good! wow

The price is very expansive! It's so expansive so they can sell small sample or it's a good price? 450 D.

This tea is clean, sweet and never bitter!!!

Do you know similar sheng at smaller price?

High quality tea costs a lot of money for a reason. Tea has definite quality tiers. The tier that Last Thoughts is in has few comparable teas and they all cost as much.

Below this tier, we are trading off what qualities we want in order to pay less. Is it sweetness without bitterness? Poundcake is a good choice but won't have the longevity. So it costs less. Want longevity of steeps? Tuhao is a good choice, but will have some bitterness and costs more than Poundcake. Want thick liquid? Try Taliensis varietal in the Jinggu line of cakes by Yunnan Sourcing, but you won't get the longevity here either, again because the tea costs less for a reason.

Finally, personal taste means what I like at a lower price point may not be to someone else's taste. The reality may be all I can afford is a sample size. Or forgo other teas to buy this one cake,

How do you suggest to buy from TU, CL and W2T???
They all have online websites. Namely:

http://crimsonlotustea.com/

http://www.white2tea.com/tea-shop/
Hi all, Norway calling...

I bought some teaware from teavire.com, very good service!
Anyone know how their pu'erh tea is, quality etc...

They have free shipping on orders over 30$, and that is good for me as i live in Norway.

Anyone?
