Yeah, all hubbub on free shipping aside, teavivre's puer has gotten some decent reviews. For example, from teadb:

http://teadb.org/2005-fengqing-zhuan/
I haven't tried it myself though.

Re: Is this Puèrh worth buying?
Take it from a fellow Norwegian: Any puerh available for purchase in Norway is probably not worth your money.Scancell wrote:Hi
This cake (375g) are for sale here in Norway, the price is 35$.
Can anyone tell me more about this cake, is the price good, or the tea not so good?
Please help me, i am new...and trying to find puèrh tea around 40$ pr. cake.

I am curious, however, what shop offers this cake? I haven't seen a puerh cake for sale in Norway for a number of years (there's no market, the little puerh that is actually available is usually below-average loose stuff).
And regarding shipping I agree with the rest of the bunch, it's generally sound advice to stay away from the free shipping sites. A bunch of decent vendors have very reasonable shipping to Norway.
And if you're new to puerh, you probably want to avoid buying a bunch of $40 cakes. Especially $40 cakes stored in Norway. At least try a few samples first.

Here you will find the cake, what do you think?
www.teaandcoffe.no
Its 215,- Norwegian kroners...very cheap!!!
Re: Is this Puèrh worth buying?
I think it's 99.9% likely to be a really disappointing tea.
The web page sells everything from spices and olive oils to candy, coffee machines, and tea. Mostly aromaticised tea. They obviously cater to an audience that knows very little about tea, and the likelihood of this tea being worth anything close to NOK 215,- is close to nil. It's ripe (cooked) puerh, and probably an awful example of it, although the description "produced according to the old tradition" would have the unsuspecting, inexperienced consumer thinking otherwise.
My advice is to stay away from this sort of vendor. Norway is a coffee nation. Go for one of the more popular international vendors, try a bunch of samples. Fork out the $10-20 for the shipping, and be content that you didn't spend your money on freely shipped but far inferior tea instead.

I guess i will do that, its the best way.
But there are so many different puerh teas out there...
So...any advice of witch samples to buy and from where (shop) ?
I want to take the fast way, skip the trash, and try good quality puerh from 50-60 (cake/brick) dollars and down.

Re: Is this Puèrh worth buying?
Yunnan Sourcing for newer stuff. White2tea for aged stuff. Both sell samples and ship internationally. W2T has a raw and a ripe basics set that if you add to your order and put the code basics it will ship for free. No matter what weight.Scancell wrote:I guess i will do that, its the best way.
