Stains on pu er wrapper

by mbrb1832 » Jun 16th, '16, 15:00

I notice some of my heavy compressed cakes has stains at the corners of the wrappers. Is it normal? They seems fine when I first bought them 3 months ago.. While the lightly compressed cake don't seems to have it . I store them in cupboard boxes and so far no molds detected

Yep, that's pretty normal. The amount of staining depends on the tea, the wrapper, and the humidity, so it can vary quite a bit. I've got wrappers that have stayed quite 'clean' and others that look like the tea has been steeping in the wrapper (ok, not quite that bad), but all in the same environment, too.

Agreed with the stains are somewhat normal.

I like to see stains on wrappers...to me it indicates my cakes are stewing in their own juices!
