Any thoughts from the pro's on this DA HONG PAO CLAY "HAN BIAN HU" YIXING TEAPOT * 100ML offering from Yunnan Sourcing?
$60 seems quite inexpensive for a handmade pot from da hong pao clay. Please note there are 13 of them in stock, in case anyone else is interested (maybe 12 now, as I bought one). Thanks in advance for your input. It appears on the Yunnan Sourcing site in China.

Welcome Islander. You could read the Forum Rules; Introductions, User Guide, Etiquitte Rules etc. These are in place to avoid spam and misuse of the Forum. To members Chip posted "Word to the wise, do NOT follow links from new members unless you are 100% certain it is legit. " .... Also, there is a rule in place that new members cannot start their own topic without first having participated in the Forum for a certain amount of time, so I'm not sure how you were able to start your own post. first of all, you are right. those are the rules.
but...
i feel that his thread was reasonable and well-intended.
this forum is really declining, and i think the last thing we should do is discourage new users (and stifle their discussions) with the rulebook.
it would be another matter were he a spammer.
no offense, but YS is a well-known and respected vendor.
that's clearly not a bad or spammy link, and imo YS is above making fake accounts and spamming teachat.
imho leave it to Chip to enforce the rules, especially if no harm was done to the forum.

Welcome to the board! The pot you bought isn't bad at all. It'll work well for young sheng/pure dry storage sheng IMO.

Yes... Essence of Tea--a vendor whose integrity I learned about on TeaChat. I tried to submit an order for one of the Lu Wei Fang pots, but someone had squeaked in just ahead of me. So I now keep an eagle eye on that site.

Received this teapot yesterday. I'm not a tea expert or a clay expert, which is why I asked the veterans to weigh in. However, I didn't want to pass up what seemed like a fair price for da hong pao clay. I gong fu'd a milk oolong (from Tea Master's) in this pot and in a nice little similar sized zi ni, both with good results. I tried it again half Western style. The YS pot has a flat filter with 5 small holes, and the pour can be slowed by tea leaves. So for those brewing teas where less than a second in the pour counts, it's not a good choice. For the way I'll be using it, it's an attractive little pot that makes nice tea.
