Reorganized teaware forum!!!
Great find at the thrift store today. I've seen vintage glazed yi xing, but not this type. Missing the teapot and 1 small plate. I think the lid on the container is actually the teapot lid, which is unfortunate.
Appreciate any info or age or origin.

That is a fantastic find! Did you have any luck finding the origin information?
Re: Green glaze yi xing
No info so far. I've seen somewhat similar jun glaze yi xing online, but nothing that is identical.Steve@Adagio wrote: That is a fantastic find! Did you have any luck finding the origin information?
Re: Green glaze yi xing
I always wondered what glazed Yixing actually is. Is it like glazed teaware from Yixing, or teaware made with that kind of clay and then glazed, or how does it work? Since most Yixing is favored for its effects on tea through it's unglazed clay, I assume the glazed Yixing wares are for appearance right?
Re: Green glaze yi xing
Glazed yixing from Qing dynasty usually is only glazed on the outside, not on the inside. These green pieces are a bit unusual, I haven't seen much like this either.Frisbeehead wrote: I always wondered what glazed Yixing actually is.
