A lidless teapot

by williammimi70 » May 3rd, '17, 02:04

I believe that this teapot is antique unfortunately when I bought it it has already lost its lid
Thinking about making a replacement lid with silver. What do you think?

My guess would be a modern (80s+) chaozhou pot, due to the colors of the clay, especially since the inside clay seems to be of brighter color than the outside. I don't recognize the stamps at the bottom, but the way they are done also makes me think the pot is more modern than antique.

It's a got some nice lines, and a silver lid would certainly make it standout!
