One of our most popular teapots ever is back! This charming little teapot has the elegant simplicity of a classic design. It features a smooth, round body with a straight spout, a profile that's unadorned yet forceful, simple and pleasing to the eye. It's made with a superior grade of clay that provides rich color and the smooth, silky gloss that typifies good Yi Xing ware. The wide body gives the leaves plenty of room to expand, while the domed lid allows better air circulation during steeping. Roy created this pot by changing the typical design of a shui ping hu. He flattened it a bit to give it a larger opening and a wider interior to allow more leaf expansion. He also made the spout more pointy to provide better water flow during pouring. Despite the modest price this is an attractive, high quality teapot that will appeal to beginners as well as aficionados.

My notes: Used it with with wuyi oolongs. Very wide mouth to accommodate big leaves easily. Medium to high fired, lid fit perfect. Perfect condition.

This unique pear-shaped pot is made from fine aged Duan-ni, a prized yellowish clay from Yixing. It is further mixed with a fine, sandy clay. This process, also known as tiao-sha, or "mixed sand", results in a beautiful, golden-hued, sandy textured teapot which resembles a perfectly ripe pear. Aside from the enhanced aesthetic, this process makes for a more porous teapot--one that readily absorbs the characteristic flavors of a particular tea quickly. The gently curving spout and delicately rounded handle balance well with the slanting shoulder, creating a sense of harmony and stability. The pot handles well, pours smoothly, with a deep, firmly seated lid. A lively well executed design, which is a joy to use.

My notes: Used it slightly with young raw puer. However, you can see on the lid that is already seasoning, very absorbent clay! Very wide mouth to accommodate big leaves easily. Perfect lid fit and condition.
