I picked up a 1.8L tetsubin and am looking for info on it. I'd like to find out:
1. Is it really Japanese as the seller believes?
2. Is the iron activated?
I had them verify that it's unlined inside, and they said that it is unlined and was made for boiling water, but they bought it used and don't have more details.
If there's any way to discern this from these photos, I'd love to have your input

That's the only picture I have until I get to pick it up in December.

What do you mean by this? I don't think I've ever heard that terminology.
