Hello everyone, I have been following the tea chat for quite some time but am new to posting. This is actually my first post on a chat like this ever so please excuse me I'd there was a peice of etiquette I missed.
Another classic tail I bought a new yixing pot. It was purchased online and its shape is quite nice. The dealer reported it as 110 ml, dunnai clay, dragon kiln. I noticed that the clay itself inside of the lid and in some areas of the body have a color that is different then the rest of the pot. It also has a low tone ping. Could this be a sign that the pot was under fired?? In my search I haven't found any information related to the color thing.
Please take a look any information would be appreciated.

My impression was that dragon kilns are not in use any longer since the end of WW2...
If it is only inside teh lid it does not really matter if it is slightly differently fired in places. No influence on your brewing. Maybe the clay was alos not evenly blended? As it looks as if this clay is a mix of different colors.

Anyways a more iportant question: How does it perform when brewing tea? It looks porous, is it?

I appreciate the logic I haven't had time to test it as I have been out of town. I will be back soon and let you know how it fairs.
