Hello,
today I got a package with Tokoname Shudei Teapot Kyusu by Gisui from Japan.
I see a strange orange spot at the bottom. Is it normal ?
The teapot has pale yellow color and I think it should have the same color everywhere if it is not covered/painted :(
Re: do I have a fake teapot ?
I got the following answer from the seller:
"I guess it is a slip of red clay. Slip is used for joining 5 parts, body, handle, spout, lid and filter."
I'm afraid to use it :(

I understand that photos you have posted do not show glaze but just wet naked clay, right?myav wrote: I got the following answer from the seller:

I would use it without hesitation.

Yes, you are right :) This is wet naked clay.lopin wrote: I understand that photos you have posted do not show glaze but just wet naked clay, right?

I already brewed a green Taiwanese tea in it and I got pretty pleasant results. It seems it works :)
