Hi,
There have been a number of posts on insects in Pu.
i.e. http://puerh.blogspot.com/2010/06/1997- ... -8582.html
I do work at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in Invertebrate Zoology. If you find creepy crawlies in your puerh, please send them to me. I am interested in adding them to the collection here. If they are not dead, just place them in a bag in the freezer. Please include:
1. Your Name
2. Date and place you found it
3. Tea kind and date
Just place them in a small box labeled:
Dead Insects for Scientific Use
No Commercial Value
Mail to:
attn.

Thanks!
Hans
p.s. Be sure to include a 25g sample, especially if it is before 1980!

Any remaining parts of the contaiminated beeng should be shipped to me.
I will kill any remaining inscets by pouring boiling water over it and process the resultant effluent through a biological filter and dispose of through a porcelain fixture into the appropriate waste treatment facility.

The p.s. was my attempt at humor.

But if you want to send me old pu, I will not protest.

(When not using ethanol, freezers are an easy way to finish them before curating.)

On a serious note, I thought the caffine helped keep pests away. What type of creatures would enjoy snacking on tea ?
