Hi everyone.
I am taking a wild guess and posting in this in the black tea thread, but I might be totally off.
Anyhow, a friend gifted me a couple of packages of tea but neither she nor I have any idea what they are. The yellow one is from Taiwan (I think I read "Luck Tea"), the red package could also be Taiwanese but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone knows what they are and could suggest brewing temperature and times?
Re: Help me identify two teas by their packaging?
I suspect is that the tightly packed golden bag is an oolong. Would that be a fair guess? (Btw, I don't want to cut the bag open yet because I have a lot of other tea to go through yet).
Re: Help me identify two teas by their packaging?
Ok, getting closer: burgundy bag is "Sun Moon Lake" red/black tea 18, it seems.
Haven't figured out the company, so if anybody knows or reads Chinese, I'd be so thankful.

on the right reads Hong Yu Tea, which is a Taiwanese black tea, similar to Ruby 18. Bare in mind that whatever is written on the pack does not necessarily reflect what is inside. Tea in Taiwan is often sold in generic packaging bought in bulk from the manufacturers.
Just open it and experiment.
