Feb 15th Discussion

by Bridgette » Feb 15th, '20, 00:00

Hello communiTEA drinkers,

Today we have Jasmine Chun Hao!

Sweet cup, notes of warmed sugar and jasmine in bloom on a summer evening. Slightly toasty like a fresh biscuit. Light, refreshing cup and not overwhelmingly floral.

Who doesn't love flowers to go with the V-day vibes? What do you think?

As someone who doesn't really like green tea, this one really surprised me! I was planning on taking a sip and then giving it to my friend, but I ended up drinking the entire cup. The light jasmine taste and warm sugar notes really blend well so the experience isn't overwhelmingly floral -- it's such a nice, cozy every day drink~

I was prepared to not like this tea because I'm not a green tea fan. I opened the pouch and was greeted by the lovely scent of jasmine, so my mind instantly changed. I brewed it for 3 min at 195 degrees and sweetened it with a bit of honey. I thought it was going to be great, but I was really turned off by the bitterness. It leaves your mouth feeling dry and like you have been drinking something with strong tannins. I brewed it for only 3 min, so it wasn't steeped too long. The water was nowhere near boiling, so it wasn't too hot. So no, I do not like this tea at all.

I was prepared to hate this one, but this Jasmine tea transported me back 40 plus years. This tea is reminiscent of drinking the honeysuckle nectar when I was a kid in the summers in NJ. Sweet, delicate and delicious. Thanks for the memory.

I always love the smell of Jasmine. Also, I'm not much of a green tea drinker. But if I was, I would like this tea.
