Feb 16th Discussion

by Bridgette » Feb 16th, '20, 00:00

Hello communiTEA drinkers,

Today we have Lemongrass!

Meyer lemon taste, with a slight hint of sweet ginger, and very aromatic floral fragrance. Smooth and fragrant when steeped as a simple cup of tea, soft mouthfeel and clean finish.

Is this brightening your day?

On this particular tea, I get an odd note that reminds me of Fruity Pebbles cereal. When I added some lemon and honey, it brought out a more ginger flavor for me. It's a very interesting cup of tea.

Never had lemongrass solo before, just as part of a blend. I tried this both with and without sweetener (demerara sugar), and prefer it with - the sweetener brings out the flavor notes nicely.

I’m enjoying this tea today. I don’t usually drink decaffeinated tea but this is nice, light and lemony .
Nice to try it

This tea will have to grow on me. I'm getting an unpleasant grassy taste on occasion. I sweetened with just a drop or two of honey. I don’t hate this tea and I’ll probably order a sample size of it so I can work with it a little more.

I definitely get the Fruity Pebbles, but I though it was delicious as is. Your idea to add lemon and honey sounds fantastic, so I'll give that a go when I get Lemongrass tea in the future.

I mean, it's lemongrass, so it's not easy to mess up. That said, they did not mess it up. It was clearly fresh and bright.

I do agree on the Fruity Pebbles note: I think that's the best descriptor I've heard for the interesting aftertaste this tea has.
