Just bought a tetsubin for boiling water. I noticed a lacquer looking coating inside it. Can someone tell me what it is? I know it’s not enamel. I’ve read that they sometimes coat the inside with Urishi lacquer as anti- rust treatment. Will this flake off after a while? Will this affect the taste later?
