First, you need a host for your image(s). Many people use photobucket, imageshack, and tinypic, but there are many others out there.
Then, after uploading the image, there will be a linkdirectly to the mage (it will end in the file extension of the image -- the easiest way to be sure you've copied the right thing).
The just paste the image's url between [img] tags. The button up top makes this a bit easier, as it also closes the tage when you click it a second time.
Before long, you won't need the buttons!
