Tea Convention?

by henley » Apr 17th, '08, 22:23

Got to wondering. Does Adagio (or any other vendor) sponsor any type of Tea Convention where tea enthusiasts can come together, meet, have classes & try different teas? I know a particular business here in town hosts a big convention each year. They have collectors come in from all over the US & other countries for a week of fun & fellowship then they release their special event product of which these people spend hundreds of dollars to get. There's apr 150 people; some have been coming for 20+ years. Most people chat online via sites similar to this & look forward to seeing each other once a year.

Sorry to have been so wordy but it was hard to describe without naming the place & product. Anyway, it's a fun way for the people to share their passion w/others who like the same thing cause typically their friends/family just don't get it. Kinda like us & our teas...

Hey there,

Do you know about the World Tea Expo? It's in Vegas at the end of May and is a couple of days long with classes, product displays and the like. I've never been but I hear a lot about it. I think the Special Teas Institute does their certification programs there as well.

There's also a Tea & Coffee World Cup...I'm sure others know far more about these but you can also look these up online.

We almost went to the expo last year when it was in Atlanta but it was during my bday. I'm looking for something social based rather than business (you have to be a retailer to go to the expo). Thanx for the post, though.
