A Great Suggestion

by Chip » Apr 17th, '08, 17:25

I received a suggestion regarding ITD welcoming of new members that I think is actually a great idea. I wanted to quick post it so maybe we can do it for the 2 newbies to ITD, the mirror image guys.

The idea is to start a welcome topic for I think each newbie, so since Olivierco would be next, we would do a topic labeled "welcome Olivierco" and we could do several things, some intro info since some newbies mentioned they did not know what to do once they got here at first. They could go to this topic first to read welcome messages.

Also, the topic would include in the FP, info on ITD like direct them to the Intro to ITD topics, and ask them to share a little about themselves. We could include other info if you feel it would help.

Then of course members could post to express their welcome.

Time is of the essence(a hint as to who shared it with me), so, opinions anyone!!!!! I hope we can do this for Olivier...

Thanx, V for the suggestion!

That is an excellent suggestion! Why haven't you done it yet, Chip?

Kidding, kidding.

As for my 2 cents...

I think we should have some sort of standardized list of key points that we would add to a more personal post each time, so we know we haven't left anything out.

Also, maybe the person who nominated the new member should be responsible for creating the thread, so Chip and Mary don't do it every time.

Yes...standardized points...

And that is a good idea about the nominator...or else the scented person who came up with the idea...

I like this idea because I was feeling a little lost when I got here. Not sure what to do. I think I was expecting a party going on in here! LOL

A welcome post would be really appreciated I think.
:D
