Is there a sampler of different types of tea?
I just got my first black tea sampler with ingenuiTEA cup and I love it. However, I've never tried green tea or white tea or roobios or anything else that didn't come in a bag or wasn't followed by the word 'zinger'.
When I first ordered I would have loved to have tried a bit of each of those things but couldn't sea a sampler that contained more than one type of tea. If there was a sampler with one popular flavor of each type of tea I would definitely have chosen that and I would bet that many first time customers would choose the same thing.

Adagio doesn't have one that has tea from the different categories. I think it'd be a great idea, but the difficulty would be in chosing just one tea from each Black, Green, Oolong, White, Rooibos, and Herbal.

I get the point of a sample set being pre-chosen, but remeber Adagio does offer sample sized containers of every type and every flavor of tea. So do what I did -go read the reviews and comments, pick out one of each you think you'd like and spend the $2 per sample to try the ones you think you'd like the most. Or, just pick one at random from the preestablished sampler sets to try, same effect.
The sample sets only save you a grand total of $1 (sampler with 6 tins, $11; cost of 6 samples individually chosen $12). Shipping is a flat rate, so get as many and a wide of a variety as you'd like to try for you or for gifts. I'm really glad for the flexibility of being able to choose my own samples and I hope others can learn to mix and match and try new flavors since it only costs $2 each.

I'm surprised they were unpopular. I can see the issue with substitutions but you could have a hard and fast "no sub" on samplers policy.
I'm not complaining about prices, mixing your own is only a couple bucks more. It's just that the first time customer special with the ingenuiTea, the book, and the sampler pack, with the $5 referral coupon is a great deal and a really good introduction to your product. I had a hard time choosing between which sampler to get, being an occassional teabag drinker my whole life, and I now find myself wishing I had more variety. I'm loving my first shipment of black teas and am certain to order more, but I have no idea whether I'll like flavored teas, or roobios, or green tea, or white tea because I have no experience with them at all. Had I received a sample of each I would have a much better idea of what I would like to order more of. For instance I now know that I love Earl Grey and Irish breakfast tea but I'm not as partial to yumman jig. I would love to know whether I like roobios or not but I have four tins to work through at a couple cups a day before ordering any more.
That's another quesiton I had. How long does tea stay fresh? If I order more tins and can't drink it all fast enough, when does it start to lose it's flavor or "freshness" if there is such a think.
I was thinking of sending the sampler pack/ingenuiTea/book combo to a few people for Christmas and was just thinking how great it would be if a very common, very representative flavor of each tea type were bundled together. For the new customer substitutions wouldn't matter because we have no idea what a good green or white or oolong tea is, actually you would know better than us what a good introduction to each is.
Anyway, it's just a thought, and it seems to have been expressed before. I don't want to end negative though or give the impression that I'm not satisfied with your product. I love your tea, love the ingenuiTea, and you have certainly added a longtime customer to your business.

Sorry if I sounded a bit gripey, it's just as you saw by the old links this question gets asked a lot (and it's the end of the day and I should have probably eaten something before replying -didn't mean to sound gruff. Forgive me?). However, you're right that for a starter kit the option is a sampler not choose your own, so there is a valid need there waiting to be filled. And, maybe if Adagio gets asked enough they'll make one rainbow tea pack with 1 of each type (with no substitutions allowed).

Tea can get old and lose some flavor, best to store it in a dark, dry, airtight area. The Adagio tins are perfect for storage. Never put tea in a freezer. Hrm, search the old posts too to learn more because I know there's a thread about this floating around in there somewhere. It shouldn't go bad for months atleast.

Ps. One good way to try different teas is join in on a teaswap. We did one here a month ago and some other tea communities do too. That way you get to try small amounts of a variety of teas and you can let other people try teas maybe you don't like so much or have extra of. make sense? There's a thread on here describing one we did and there sure were a variety of teas sent.

let the customer choose sampler flavors
I just read the thread here about the introductory sampler pack. I've bought two so far (mostly so my husband and I would each have our own Ingenuitea and to try more flavors). We love the Ingenuity, but I would really like to have chosen my own flavors. I read one response that said that a customer can just choose their own sample sizes for only a dollar more than the sampler set as if that's no big deal. If it's really no big deal, then why not let the customer choose the samples in the gift set to begin with? I'd love to send out the set, but I would want to choose my favorites - and of the samples I've received I've enjoyed 3 of 8. Not a good ratio. Of the teas I've selected on my own, I've enjoyed every one! If, in the business world, the customer is always right, why not let him/her find out for herself! You could always list recommendations for a sampler, or even limit which teas are available for the gift set, but PLEASE let the consumer decide. If you're hesitant to do this, how about for starters, offering a mixed set: include one black, one green, one herbal and one "wild card" that the consumer could select from a list of recommendations. Consider it.

You can create your own custom set if you purchase the ingenuiTEA and any 4 teas. The price of the ingenuiTEA by itself is $15, and the teas range in price from $1 - $5 apiece. For logistic reasons, we have created 4 pre-defined sets and taken a few dollars off to encourage the purchase (trust us, it's much easier to process the pre-made sets versus picking 4 unique teas).
