Would it be worth having a general discussion forum?
Most forums I frequent have a general space where people can talk about well any old rubbish, sort of a release valve for the community. I realise that there is a misc forum but it is down the bottom, rarely used and usually tea related. A general chit chat forum where people could post youtube funnies, stumble links and chat about their sexual orientation free of tea ties might be useful. It would also be far easier to bring up issues with post content as it would be far less fleeting than the IM. This may be something that Adagio are not comfortable with but I thought I'd chip in my two cents as it would be nice to exchange some non tea related drivel with the members here also my brain and attention span doesn't really cope well with the IM format.

I very recently considered adding a Teavante Garde forum to TeaChat. An almost anything goes forum with a strong warning/disclaimor to those who enter.Proinsias wrote:Would it be worth having a general discussion forum?

One problem with this idea, anyone 14 or older I think may join TC currently. We have at least several minors who are members. This is a strong concern to say the least. It also becomes a legal issue.
In addition, something so potentially controversial...I would definitely want full Mod Squad approval as well as adagio expressing that they have no objections.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
Now that's just asking for troubleChip wrote:I very recently considered adding a Teavante Garde forum to TeaChat. An almost anything goes forum with a strong warning/disclaimor to those who enter.

BTW, itd.com is taken, but intenseteadiscussion.com is free as a bird...

OK, I think since Proinscias brought it up, it was worth discussing in ITD. I am feeling a little censored at the moment.

Ack! I'm sorry you feel censored! I was skimming through the updates last night and saw the thread. Just as I was setting up a copy/paste thing to duplicate the pertinent parts here, my "10 minutes til your battery dies" notification came up. I'd left my powercord at home...so I just transferred everything instead. It was quicker and let me finish scanning the other posts. I completely missed your response to Bears. I'da left that in otherwise.Chip wrote:[...]I am feeling a little censored at the moment. [...] However, you also pulled my one response to Bears out of the topic as well. Teago boosts: You have the most enviable sencha stash in the entire western hemisphere and your wisdom and advice in all things Japanese is valued by thousands.
Ego boosts: And you're a snappy dresser. Chicks dig that.
