Well, that's just ... I thought that gizmo was at least going to press the liquid out of the used teabags, or something...

The TeaBagBin is simply a Western version of a chakoboshi, actually. The chakoboshi is used for pouring out tea that's gone cold (or is undrinkable because it's bitter), for rinsing out teacups with hot water, for dumping tea leaves... any kind of tea waste actually.

The lid (which is pierced, just like the TeaBagBin's) is removable...

You can see a couple more of them here:

If I may say so, I do think the Japanese approach is a bit more stylish

I'd chuckle over the materialistic tendencies of humankind...but I was pondering adding a jar-like thing to my tea desk to hold spent leaves. It's composting time in Indiana, and tealeaves are good stuff.

I love chamekke, she knows everything! There must be some way to harness that superhuman tea knowledge and turn it into cold hard cash Image

I can't imagine how we got along before her. Soon TeaChat time will be reckoned as either Modern Age or BC, Before Chamekke (or would it be British Columbia?)

And we know what she is always thinking about.

Gah, how lazy..? "Instead of walking over to the bin 25 times, do it once!" Because the five feet to the trash is SO HARD!

the great thing about the teabag bin is that the time i am saving not walking to the garbage each time i make tea lets me do other things like spending more time with my loved ones, building a deck, or writing the next great american novel

That is the most absurd teaproduct I have seen to date.
