Ok, I'll try to limit the beerchat, dudes (and my binge drinking

). But for as long as I've been drinking loose leaf tea, TeaChat has never been "All Tea All The Time®". There's always been sci-fi chat, hott girl chat, slightly buzzed Friday night chat and chat about work. I think that just reflects life, don't you? We all drink tea and love the stuff, but we do other things too. If all we did was brew tea, drink it and then chat about it - this would be a mental ward.

I'm not sure the beerchat needs to be limited in any meaningful way, to be honest.
People seem to enjoy it, and it's closer to on-topic than a lot of the other rabbits we chase.
Plus, and I think this part is pivotal, nobody seems to mind. It's not disruptive in any way I've noticed.
What prompted me to bring up the IRC channel again (aside from the fact that some of us have been using it to good effect) was a few times over the last few days in which some exotic and pushy chatter combined with some Anons to create situations that were *less cool*. I found the IRC channel a healthy and interesting outlet.

Since apparently there's a desire to open the main irc channel with the site chat, for off topic discussion, there is also support for a channel for ITD. It's registered now. #itd.

In an attempt to make this as simple as possible for folks to use, I created the following page:
http://brandonhale.us/teachat.html
There is nothing really wrong with the Java client, but I like this one better.

The more options, the better, I say.
