Hello. I found this great Green Tea on Ebay. This guy sells it in tubes. Each tube mixed with 8 ounces of hot or cold water is equal to 8 cups of brewed tea. Each tube has 300 polyphenols in it. He has Raspberry or Lemon sweetened with Stevia and Raspberry or Lemon sweetened with Splenda and he has Unsweetened. I drink 2 of these a day and Iam getting the same nutritional value as 16 cups of brewed tea. Anyway just thought I would pass this on. The guys email address is Lebarista@yahoo.com he is in Michigan and ships only to the U.S. Tea Ya !!

Man, I dunno... everybody I talk to says there's no such thing as too much tea. But honestly- I tend to be an 8-cup-a-day-er myself, but I find that over 4 cups and I tend to lose a little TOO much weight, and lose a little colour, and am always hungry. They say that tea has high levels of tannin which inibits the absorbtion of iron?? Maybe it depends on what your diet is?

I thought tannins were in both tea and wine?? I found a couple articles about it, including this:
--Tannins are substances present in the seeds and stems of grapes, the bark of some trees, and yes, tea leaves. They are described as interfering with digestive processes-- http://www.ochef.com/197.htm.
Course, the same site also says --In moderation, tannins are not concentrated enough in tea to interfere with digestion. -- so who knows?
The Chinese seem to think that green tea irritates the stomach if you drink too much. American sites seem to think you can't drink enough. I don't know who to believe.

Since we switched from tea bags (blech) our tea consumption has gone up astronomically. We're never going back.

Yes, I am also an affluent tea consumer. However, I have noticed if I do not limit the green tea, it can be difficult for me to fall asleep at night and throughout the day I feel tense or uneasy. Caffeine tends to have dramtatic effects on my nervous system. So after my cup of green tea, I counter it with several cups of Mint, Camomile or Skullcap. The only concern that I would have about excessive tea comsumption would be teeth stains, I suppose. I have been through extensive herbal studies in the past but do not remember many concerns of drinking too much tea, other than Golden Seal and Comfrey. I was taught that your body will eliminate what it cannot use in most cases. However, Rumor states that Golden Seal and Comfrey can be poisonous if taken in ridiculously large doses. Doses even frequent tea drinkers (such as you and I) cannot even imagine!
Re: Addicted to tea, any one else here have more then 8 cups
I drink more tea than water alone every day. I start the day with black tea, and after I get home from work I switch to green tea or white tea (less caffeine). But I will not touch decaffeinated tea (yuck).teachat wrote:I absolutly love my tea's( green li zi xiang tea, and mandarin green tea and seem to indulge my self until I am ready for bed! I love these and since finding mandarin green tea I now seem to go crazy for this one as well. Any one else here drink this much? is it good for a person to drink this much?

Tea is very healthy, but I guess it is true that in all things "too much of a good thing can be bad for you."

I'll go with that!teachat wrote:Karla--
Besides more frequent trips to the restroom, there are few negative effects that have been proven.
However, it has been proven drinking lots of tea may result in better physical and mental health, better breath and lower weight (just to name a few).
Cheers!

Tea Addiction
I,m a reformed coffee drinker who drank for taste. Yes, guilty..I
would quickly whip an 18-wheeler 50 miles out of route for a decent cup. Since I began drinking tea I cut my coffee intake by about 95%.
What you may be dependent upon is a continuos infusion of sweeteners such as honey and/or sugar. Your condition maybe also be symptomatic of a subtle notion that this desire to tea-up helps you cope [with stress].
Anyway Matt, I also drink 8 or more cups a day and don't even wonder about effects or addiction. I consider the teas I drink a panacea for all ills. Just read the literature. If you ain't got the jitters don't become a quitter! Tea will make your soul glitter!!

I usually have 3 cups of Adagio's Irish Breakfast first thing in the morning. Mid morning I have 2 or 3 cups of Masala Chi I buy from a local tea store. With lunch I usually have a couple cups of either Adagio's vanilla or orange rooibus (sometimes blended- Yum.) Mid afternoon is usually have several cups of Adagio's Darjeeling #22. Right after dinner I either end up with a couple cups of Adagio's Keemun Encore or thier Golden Monkey. Mid evening I switch to Adagio's flavored whites (blueberry, peach, pear, or tangerine.) For the inbetween times I drink a blend from my local tea store called Tiffany's House Blend. It blended with about 11 teas including whites, greens and rooibus. This stuff is delicious - my very favorite - but quite expensive. Their tea room is listed here in the list of tea rooms under Florida. I wish Adagio made something like it ! If I totalled it up correctly, I must be drinking about 13-15 cups a day.
I always drank tea (herbal or greens about 1/2 strength so caffeine is not an issue) and would usually drink around 4 -6 cups /day. Then I got my trinitea the end of Dec. and tried loose leaf teas for the first time. I am averaging 12-16 cups per day. I am working my way through 8 of the sampler packs and having a blast, rating each tea as I go so I know what to reorder in larger quanities. I feel better (but still don't see much of this weight loss that everyone claims).
consumption
The britts consume an average of 5 cups per day. Considering half the population are men at the pub, that makes 10 cups for the remainder of the population. Those at the pub had at least a cup in the morning. Let's assume 10% of the population are children uder six that drink their milk straight,.....so yeah, I would estimate a good addict has 8-12 cups per day, on average. Those on the TT (not affiliated to AA) are probably hitting 18-20.
Happy sipping!

Depends on the day but usually I drink nothing but tea. I like ot start off with either a Oolong or a green and then I dirnk green thru out the day and at night I end up drinking Rooibos. The place that I buy tea from loves me cause I am constantly trying new kinds out. Although I do tend to stick to a jasmine and a dragonwell. I love my tea so much I went out and got YiXing mugs for each of the teas I drink. Since most of the tea I get is pretty good quality I can seep it multiple times. I would have to guess I drink roughly 10 + mugs of tea a day. I feel healthier doing it to. So I don't know if there is anything unhealthy about drinking too much tea. I have heard about the iron thing too but I heard that it doesn't inhibit iron absorbsion. I just heard that drinking tea makes your body consume more iron then normal. I tend to take a bunch of vitamins too so I am not worried about that. I could be wrong too.
