BTW, for you younger ones: most of the tone of the above is B.S. I thought that I would feel old at 65, be tired all the time, and have no energy to pursue activities, but that is simply not the case. Don't worry about getting older: it's lots of fun.
An old man's desire
I will be 65 this month and am finishing up my first week on Medicare. What better time to commemorate this milestone, but what do I desire to acquire? I have decided to purchase yet another Yixing pot to remind me of my place in the Chinese 12-year cycle, so I have ordered a very nice modern pot in the shape of a ram from Ten Ren to accompany me in those times of reflection. http://www.tenren.com/20silramteap.html

As an aspiring Gerontologist, 65 is not the "preparing for end of life phase" that it once was. I have seen people change careers at that age!

It's all about health. If youre a healthy 65 year old then life can be great, but many people also have serious health problems at that age. Fortunately it sounds as though you are not one of them, and if that is indeed the case congratulations!
I have heard of japanese people over 100 years being active and walking around until the day they die.
