First Chinese Green in 6 months

by joelbct » Aug 7th, '08, 23:37

Well I've been all Japanese Green and Chinese/Indian Blacks for a while now.

Perfect midsummer evening, cool breeze blowing in through the window, about to go on vacation to the beach for a week... seemed like a cup of a decent Chinese Green would hit the spot. An 07 Dragon Well from Dragon Tea House... still pretty flavorful even at 1 year old.

Sometimes it's hard to believe that all these types of Tea come from the same plant. I guess its a testament both the the variety of nature, and to human ingenuity.

Cheers...

Ahhh, Long Jing. I opened my tin of 2007 Long Jing for the first time in around 4 months today. Man, smelled really good. I ran out of time to have it today, but I will enjoy it tomorrow, maybe watch the opening cermonies for the Olympics.

I have been enjoying some Chinese greens now that shincha fever has subsided. I had forgotten how wonderful they are ... and how varied in both manufacturing style and taste.

Life is good!
