Hmmm, why not continue, no real reason we have to stop. I am still buzzing from a great ride this evening.
I am an active member in my local bike club. But since I had Lyme disease last Summer, I have not ridden with them. I actually like the simplicity of rolling the bike out of the house (yes, the house, my bikes do NOT stay in the garage, yeah, pretty anal about bikes too), and hop on and ride.
I live in the country, so it is a great starting location whether I head N, S, E, or W. I cannot see loading my bike up in my car along with all my gear, driving 10 or more miles to the club's start location, ride, then drive home.
TBH, I do miss riding in the huge packs of riders, riding in pacelines that just literally hummed from the sound of well maintained road bikes. I miss sitting in a paceline less than 1 foot from the wheel in front of me. The required intensity and concentration is an incredible rush.
