You are right...but I think that using this to make gyokuro - especially given the small amount water (2oz), might not be a good idea.

No, I would not use it for gyokuro since I also use 2 ounces of water or less for premo stuff. The water would barely reach the bottom of the screen.
Besides, I like to scoop the gyo leaves out to eat.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I was at itoen last week...and I saw this awesome gyokuro pot...unfortunately it was 400$ so i decided to just let it be. I wonder why something of that nature can not be had at a lower price. it was a completely unglazed, light as a feather pot.

I'm really eyeing that one up for purchase, but I'm curious exactly how close the screen is to the bottom of the pot. What would be the ideal brewing capacity (min/max) of that particular one?
EDIT: I'm also wondering, since i cant seem to find anything on the website, is there any kind of "spend so much and get free shipping" or something like that that o-cha offers?

The screen is about 1 cm from the bottom of the pot or about 2 oz of water. The ideal capacity would be 6oz to 10 oz. I didn't see any special offers. Overall I spent about $37 which seems cheap for such a well constructed pot. I love the design on the side.
