Nothing like the right pot for the job. This is perfect for small steeps.
Sure, I used a normal kyusu for gyokuro. But now I have this and really love it.
It also depends how much water you would use. I only use up to 2 ounces for a really premo gyokuro. This pot holds exactly that. Less heat loss of already cooler water.
The pot is actually Korean artisan from Hankook. They call it a travel set and includes the pot and a cup...perfect together.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

i just ordered one of those travel sets from hankook (the white one) after recently discovering that i really like gyokuro and want to make it the right way. their website seems a little questionable but if the company has the chip seal of approval...

I actually have 4 different travel sets. Love them all. I have the white one, it is the largest one. The travel sets have a striking similarity to gyokuro pots.
Keep in mind, GIG, there are many ways to brew gyokuro. The smaller the pot, the better the gyokuro should be, thus more leaf to water. But you can also brew sencha in them. The pots do allow some leaf to sneak by, but for gyokuro, I quite like this!
Today, I went with 2.67 grams per ounce of water (4 grams/1.5 ounces water). I have to say, this just blew me away. Never had a better gyokuro session. Had I done this with mediocre gyokuro, I would have likely proclaimed the opposite.
Their site does have issues, but they are a big company, many stores in Korea. I am sure you will be satisfied. Let me know.
