I have a tea set from ten tea [my first yixing pot]. It Zhisha and realitivly thick. At first it was used for everything from Taiwan: Pouchong, HM Oolong, Ginseng Oolong, etc. A while back I decided to use it only for Pouching, but It doesn't brew it very well, walls are probably too thick. Anyway I want to change it to something else.
I want to use it for darker roasted Taiwan Oolongs now. Can I un-flavor it? Should I boil it with some of the new tea?

i decided to dedicate pots for certain teas, but i still continue making other teas in a dedicated one. As long, imo, you rinse your pot in boiling water after a G.F session for a couple of times you'll be fine. I think you can get rid of smells from previous tea brews by using method described in Teamasters blog. Pour hot water in pot, dump out, followed by cold water pour. To be done till no smells are detected, The thicker the pot, the better it suits this method, that's just my humble 1 shilling's worth or 100th of a cent worth.

Going from a light flavored tea like pouchong to darker teas like Wuyi, I would do little or nothing.

Isn't there the potential of cracking the pot going repeatedly from hot water to cold to hot to cold to hot..?

No, I've done it to all my pots, with about 5 to 6 hot cold repititions, no cracks if they are quality yixings

It happens for some dense clay such as Zhuni or Hongni pots..
Should be watched out especially in winter..

You don't actually use cold water, but rather cooler water (ie lukewarm). You can also let the pot cool a bit in between.
