I'm new to the vast world of tea. I grew up drinking tea with my great granddad, grandmother, and mom, but it has only been within the last year that I've found loose tea! Although it's not really a "tea", I'm having a soothing cuppa chamomile from my cute 2 cup tea pot (I worked the graveyard last night)! I have a collection of Hall Aladin teapots, but alas no pretty cups and saucers to go with them. I'm working on it!!
I look forward to learning more about tea from you; have a great day all.
No fun!!!Smari wrote: Ahh, I wish I can have some hot tea right now! Just got a tooth pulled out and doc's orders are no hot liquids for the next 24 hours

Of course I crave the teaware--it's what got me in the mess! I have to maintain a lot of self-control otherwise I could do some real damage. There's still several pieces I would like to own but I'm very picky so I have to wait for the right piece to "speak" to me. Lately there's been too much talking going on!

Golden Monkey w/bfast & had a nice surprise w/lunch. Finally got up the nerve to try Jasmine Pearls Oolong (Adagio's Jasmine #12). The smell of the dry leaf gave me an instant headache (fragrance allergies) so wasn't sure if I'd be able to drink it. Thankfully the taste was very light & refreshing--even good enough for a second steep!

Yum! You make it sound so good.
I chose 5 because teaware has to speak to me (loud) to make me want to buy. I want to find one of those rice cups like Victoria's.

I am drinking Iron Goddess Anxi from Red Blossom to celebrate a new job I just got. It is a rather mediocre tea, not really appropriate for celebration, but I started a session and so will have another cup or two.
I am starting the new job tomorrow. The good news is that I will have more money for tea and teaware
. The bad news is that I will have a lot less time for teachat. Until I figure out how much I can get away with I will see you all during weekends and occasionally in the evenings

Congratulations on your new job! and it doesn't matter if you have less time to teachat, as long as you make the times you're on it worthwhileRussianSoul wrote:I am drinking Iron Goddess Anxi from Red Blossom to celebrate a new job I just got. I had an interesting session of Teamasters 2 year tree Baozhong. This is the first time with this new batch, but I had a batch from already that was very very good. This batch however is clearly different. Next time I will weigh it to make sure I am not shorting the leaf. But this seemed to pale by comparison to the last batcha. I hate when this happens.
Then a rather inexpensive fukamushi sample from Pentox/Lupicia. While it is really cheap, it is not singing.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
Congrats!!! Yeah, I hate it when work interferes with TeaChat!RussianSoul wrote:I am starting the new job tomorrow. The good news is that I will have more money for tea and teaware. Henley, I have two sample tins of Adagio Jasmine, #12 and whatever the other one is. I can't stand the smell, but if you were brave enough to try, maybe I will be too!henley wrote:Finally got up the nerve to try Jasmine Pearls Oolong (Adagio's Jasmine #12). While I love teaware (shiny toys!), budgetary and space constraints keep me from indulging too often. I've got a couple of well-loved yunomi, but honestly, I drink most of my tea from a thick, heavy stoneware mug. I actually prefer the weight of a heavy cup in my hand. Not sure why. I've only got three teapots, one of which I no longer use because it's simply too big.
I'd rather spend my money on tea.
Well, I've been playing with my brand new gaiwan today. Haven't brewed a bad cup yet, surprisingly.
Oh, and your photo brings to mind helicopter seed pods, Sal. One of my favorite things indeed.

Curious to see what you think of it. As I do w/all my light oolongs, used water temp of apr 160* & got great results.geeber1 wrote: Henley, I have two sample tins of Adagio Jasmine, #12 and whatever the other one is. I can't stand the smell, but if you were brave enough to try, maybe I will be too!
Unfortunately my other experiments tonight didn't go so well. Tried the Heirloom Tea Flowers & found them very disappointing. Don't know if I didn't use enough of them or what but it was flavorless. Do the dried flowers remind anybody else of popcorn?
The other new tea I tried was Shan Lin Shee from the box pass. Didn't care for this tea at all. Too tired to make a third tea plus I've got a little one crying.
