what is gyokuro means? Thanks everyone again for helping me : )
点茶 = tencha
The -ro part in gyokuro means dew. I've seen the first part, gyoku, variously translated as jade, pearl, jewel, and precious.
Thanks Chamekke
点茶 = tencha
ten means drop / tip / most tender parts? I saw a link showing the leaves, and i don't see any stem or vein. Do they destem everything to product tencha?

I've heard that's part of the process, but i'm still unsure of how they actually do it. (devein) They definitely remove the stems though.

It is done by magic.
I am sure there is more than one method, but the stems and veins are removed in a chamber that blows hot air from the bottom I think. As the leaves dry and seperate from the stems and veins, the actual leaf particles float to the top and the stems/veins fall to the bottom. Hibiki actually offers as a "gift" the Karigane from this process. I have a bag in the TeaFridge.
Pretty amazing to see I am sure.

I saw a video of that, they referred to it as air drying. I didn't know that's how they removed the stems/veins though. The "gift" is no longer advertised on their site. I missed ordering it.

I just hope the gift directions are on the package. I should have copied them. They are quite different from last year's.
