I don't care for border tea, but it is a pretty good value. Anyone had aged border tea? If this stuff ages well I'll invest, but all young border tea that I've had just kind of tastes brutal.

I've had 70's border tea and it is not that good.
It is cheap, though, and a fair lesson in aging.

Mengyang Gouyan 66 blend 2007
A good deal of bitterness, especially in the first few infusions. Gongfu brew started with a rinse of 5 seconds. Following brews: seconds, 10, 15, 25, 35, 45, 60
I found it grassy with some earthiness and mineral notes. No melon or anything else you'd like to find. I'm hoping that changes. More pics on my forum

I kinda liked that cake, for the price. Yes it is bitter, but it should age nicely.

I'm going to give it another run this weekend. I recently received a digital gram scale. I need it for consistency in both tea and espresso dosing. I used it today with some Mengku and realized that I was (when eye-balling it) using a bit less than I should.

Hop told me that the 88 is bad. so yeah, the 66 should be better. I'll tell you once I sample it.
