Chabako
Does anyone know where I can order a chabako that will deliver to the US? Just for clarification i'm referring to the wooden boxes used for tea storage that are lined with tin, not the fancier version used for the assorted forms of tea ceremony. Similar to the Den's box/chair thing, but one that's not actually a chair.

I'd be happy to keep my eyes open for you.
What dimensions are you wanting?
P.S. You can get them on Yahoo Japan Auctions easily enough, but you'd probably have to have it shipped through a proxy service such as Crescent Shop or Rinkya. Examples:

Hm about 13" x 12" x 10" is the one i'd like, i'm pretty sure that's not the std dimension, but I don't have those readily handy atm. But i'm pretty much open for any size shoebox or larger.chamekke wrote:I'd be happy to keep my eyes open for you.

Chabako International does custom-made tea boxes of this type, although they all seem to be upholstered.
You might try contacting them to see if they'll sell you a plain box. If they won't, then at least they may be able to advise you on where you can buy one.
