So, Oolongonians are like Orcs in Mordor?Shelob wrote:Victoria,

Enjoyed a green oolong form the box pass, the best of both sides. This was a Baozhong from Teasource, can't read what else it says. I finished this one off too. Lots of small particals made it a little uneven.
Just had jambalaya, still no donuts!CynTEAa wrote:Fried for certain. I should have a real lunch now and back off of the donuts...Chip wrote:Cake donuts as in "not fried?"

You have inspired a full fledged craving here! There's an orchard about 10 minutes from here that makes cider donuts and you can buy them hot as they come out of the fryer...If only the kids weren't napping.CynTEAa wrote:Nepal FF with cider donuts yesterday, and I have enough of all to repeat! Yum!
Are cider donuts a New England thing? I was surprised that so many people hadn't heard of them.

Sorry about the craving! I had been counting down the days until the cider mill opened and then got too busy to get there. Maybe they are a New England thing. YUM! Second infusion of oolong #40...which we have had and is not new.
Cider donuts are awesome. We have an apple orchard around the corner from my house that makes those and absolutely fantastic apple pies. I don't know if they are a New England thing or not, but they are definitely my favorite donut.CynTEAa wrote:Nepal FF with cider donuts yesterday, and I have enough of all to repeat! Yum!
I would have to go with other for today's poll. Kombucha scares me more than other types of tea. I like black tea, oolongs, greens, and herbals. The only pu'erh that I tried tasted like fresh cut lumber and compost, but I am assuming there are ones with more appetizing flavors.
My highlight of today was that my new teapot arrived! It's absolutely gorgeous! It is unglazed, holds about 5oz, and has a nifty ball shaped filter. I am in love.

[/quote]When I was in Taiwan I saw a yixing teapot that had that same kind of look to it ... I wonder what's the clay composition on these kinds of pots

It's been a busy TeaDay for me, as my Adagio order came in. Yay!
Rooibos: I think I need to use more of the loose tea per infusion. This had pretty much no flavor the way I made it, although the aftertaste was lovely.
Ceylon Sonata: Ohhhhhh this was good. Wow. Definitely buying more of this.
Kukicha: I absolutely hated it. Smelled and tasted like boiled salad. I have a feeling the green sampler I bought is going to go to waste on me. I'm going to avoid any teas described as "vegetal" from here on out. Ugh. (No offense to you greenies -- I know my beloved lapsang is thoroughly hated by some of you! Thankfully there are more than enough teas to keep everyone happy.

Congrats CK, I'm really happy for you!
Some Heirloom Flowers for me to end the day.
Nice and soothing.

How do they do this? I thought it was different colored clay, but if you look at the openings, it appears like all red clay.
Anyway, congrats, CK!
Kunpu sencha to finish the day and later steeps of the earlier Baozhong. I very good TeaDay as usual.
I should really do this poll again without herbalsc... and maybe with kombucha?
