You have inspired a full fledged craving here! There's an orchard about 10 minutes from here that makes cider donuts and you can buy them hot as they come out of the fryer...If only the kids weren't napping.

Are cider donuts a New England thing? I was surprised that so many people hadn't heard of them.
Sorry about the craving! I had been counting down the days until the cider mill opened and then got too busy to get there. (It's a ten minute drive  )

Maybe they are a New England thing. YUM! Second infusion of oolong #40...which we have had and is not new. ;)

I love cider donuts :!: especially paired with warm mulled cider :!:

I've had them several times over the last few weeks. I don't know if they are a 'New England' thing, but you would have to expand it maybe to a Northeast thing as I'm in NY and they are very popular here as well. It's so 'dangerous' around where I live as there are several orchards here that bake their own and you drive by and have to stop in because they smell soooooo good!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my new tea pot. The inside of the pot is a solid orange-red clay. I have no clue how they did the outside layer. I am guessing that either they swirled slip (watered down clay) in different colors over the top before firing, or that they made pieces of swirled clay and worked that on top of the original red part. They probably did something completely different, but it is at least a unique looking teapot.

I voted to toss white teas off the island - and I thought that it would be fun to experiment with different leaves and flowers to make tisanes. White is just too mild a taste for me. When I voted that I wouldn't mind having darjeeling as my only tea - I forgot. THIS IS AN ISLAND! NO DEADLINES! NO SCHEDULE! For that vote, thinking more rationally - I wish I had choosen green.

My computer has been down a few days - it was very frustrating to watch ( it feels like listen) to all the conversations and not respond! :)
