See that's the thing. You have weather. I think it was most aptly said when someone commented that California doesn't really have seasons. When you live somewhere that doesn't freeze in the winter, never snows, and rains a little bit each year, it gets status quo, it's boring. I enjoy something different. I feel your pain! We've had torrential rain all day that finally turned to snow around 5pm. It's still snowing outside as of now and we have a winter storm warning in effect until 2pm tomorrow. We've only lost power once so far though. Thankfully, no shoveling for me since I am on a college campus, but the Bobcat snowplows are out in full force. Right now the wind is howling, the power keeps flashing on and off, and my neighbors utility pole snapped at the base and is leaning on their house with my power connected to it. This is absolute bliss. Bliss I tell you!!!!

Yesterday when I got home, I was all prepared (mentally) to have some tai ping monkey king and instead I ended up sleeping on the couch, too tired to make tea. That's what vacations are for! Live in the "boring" sunny climate of southern California, go to Colorado to go snowboarding or Seattle for rain or Vermont for pretty leaves, whatever. Heh, I actually do just that. People always think i'm crazy when it's frozen over and I walk out and just take it all in. I love the feeling of walking outside in winter and getting a nice deep breath of sub 30 degree air. It's so refreshing and awakening.auggy wrote:That's what vacations are for! That's why you should teach DH in the ways of making tea, if only for the sole purpose of so he can make tea for you. Isn't that what a Doting Husband is for anyway? Mmm, California. Sun. Warmth. All these things sound wonderful. My goal is to one day live where I can wear shorts on Christmas and it is not in the Southern hemisphere.
