Hello from Texas

Hello,
I just decided to take the plunge into loose leaf tea. I grew up on Iced Tea and begun drinking hot teas when my tastes matured. Twinings Earl Grey got me into hot tea and I have tried various brands and blends of bagged tea. English Breakfast is my current favorite.
I have always been interested in loose leaf, but I guess it's time to take tea from being just another beverage to enjoy to a bit of a hobby.
Seems there is alot more to tea than just putting a bag in a mug and pouring boiling water over it and let it steep for 3-4 minutes! I've already read some stuff about pu tea. I hope I know what am I getting into! This place seems very friendly and helpful, I think I will learn alot!

Hello hello! I'm new to the world of loose teas as well! Teas are much more vast and complicated than I had originally thought, but they're wonderful! The first real loose tea I ever started drinking was Iron Goddess Oolong; a lovely mild and floral tea. I highly recommend it! But if you're not ready to dive into the Oolong teas, I'd go for green and/or some of the flavoured teas, since they're lovely and mellow and enticing.
I believe drinking tea makes me a better artist. But hey, I also believe I'm completely sane.
