Stainless steel samovar question

by treazure » Nov 19th, '08, 15:15

Green tea people might want to close this one before fainting in horror.

Safe to type now? The husband person has asked what I want for Christmas and my birthday (dagnabbit mother had me 4 days after Christmas so I always get "This is for your birthday too," presents. Grumble.) Since I haven't found another figural teapot that must come to live here, I really want the stainless steel samovar from TeaSam but would appreciate input from Chatters here.

There is a teapot on top where the tea concentrates, and the boiling water is in the bottom part to add to the tea concentrate. Since my true tea love is black tea, this would work well for me and I could keep it on my computer desk for instant access to tea.

Anyone have a samovar or suggestions for one? Yours in tea, Jeanne in GA (the one in the USA not the dead USSR)
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.

I can't give you a suggestion but I can commiserate about the christmas birthday/combo. I'm three days after Christmas. My own mother usually forgets every year because of the holiday craziness. My Aunt used to have to call the day before to remind her to pull a party together :P

Me too! When I was little, they didn't even bother to wrap my birthday presents in non-Christmas paper. I always hated that.

Capricorns unite! No more regifting! I know all of us have been given presents for our birthdays that had been given someone else and just rewrapped! ARGH!

My best friend is really very bad about doing that and even regifted me with something I gave her a few years ago, lol!

The samovar would fit perfectly on the right hand side of my desk. Computer, samovar, water cooler - daaaaaaaang, put a toilet there and I wouldn't have to leave the computer till bed time. For food, I could just grab a loaf of bread, knife and jar of peanut butter and I'd be good.

Decisions, decisions. Crunchy or smooth. I'll have to have two pots, one for plain black or Irish Breakfast and one for the spicy mix I do. Now THAT'S a power office!

Yah my 'office' is my computer desk in the 'dinning' area of our appartment. Even though I have to get up for food/tea I can set it up on the kitchen counter so I can just turn to grab more.

Capricorns unite, indeed. At least we all know we have the good taste and distinction to be *sniff* tea lovers :D

A samovar sounds beautiful. What a nice gift.

edit: I'd get the one you really want.
