I have. It was a quality transaction, but I could have gotten the same product through Simple Leaf or the Lochans.
I really do like T-Ching, and whenever Sandy & crew have contacted me personally, they've been nothing but wonderful. They know tea and they're pretty passionate about what they do. The photo issue is sticky, and I am a little shocked by everyone's stories about how it's being treated. My interactions with T-Ching have been so smooth, I thought they'd be bowing backward to fix the problem.
But, you know...I sorta feel for them. The internet is a sticky place when it comes to citation. Not even my beloved MLA has a consistent method for most internet media (the other day some friends and I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out how to best cite something from YouTube). Photos are doubly tricky...a lot of people just don't consider a snapshot of stuff intellectual property. It's not really a clearly defined area in a lot of ways.
Yarr. I'm gonna go back to Emily Dickinson. I've got a seminar paper due soon, and I can't think clearly about anything else.
PS: Yay for Phyll and Marshal and the triple B! (I've been seeing him a lot on the IM recently.) Good to see everyone again!

Pentox, other than the series of online tastings they sponsored (which IMO was probably *the* inspiration for a lot of the teachat-related tastings a year or so ago), I haven't ordered from them. Their products just seemed way too overpriced to me.
I have also experienced nothing but kindness from the TChing crew, but I have been a little concerned about their ethics ever since they offered a Japanese green from a previous year's season as part of a tasting (without acknowledging its age). Of course, it was free tea, but it seems like they were hyping it so they could sell it at current-harvest prices (for a tidy profit) on their site. Either that or they were duped by their source in Japan; it's hard to say for sure.

Psh, just have some tea.Mary R wrote:Well...hah! Talk to me again in mid-December and I'm sure I'll be well. Right now, though...the dark thoughts threaten to consume. Yay stress! (Seriously, peeps...I've gone through two bags of chocolate in two weeks and am well into a third. Mid-december. Please, baby, please.)

I should probably add that although I was a little miffed when I seen my photo on TChing, and a little pleased, I was happy with the way in which they dealt with it. I'm just shocked that it they don't seem to have changed their practices and the way in which they have responded this time around "Sorry but....". The response I received was more along the lines of" sorry, sorry, sorry" with no but.
I'll refrain from taking the 'stealing physical stuff being similar to copyright theft' tangent I objected to in the general forum any further as I'm not sure TeaChat would benefit from hammering it out, if anyone is intent on exploring it further I will, however, oblige.
I've also only had tea dealings with TChing via the online tastings and found it to be a great experience but now we've got the TeaChat equivalent and TChing don't seem to be in the business of tastings these days, although I rarely check the site.
